Title: Gigabyte X58 G1 Guerilla Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard
Post by: Blaster on November 21, 2011, 02:18:26 pm
a friend of mine has told me to contact you as you have a good customer service
i bought this motherboard on the 29 Sept,2011 (Gigabyte X58 G1 Guerilla Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard) , i didnt have a CPU for it and had to save up and purchased a Intel Core i7 990X
last week for my build ,
when i built the system it would not boot into windows , it would boot for 3 seconds and turn off then boot again and so on ,
when i had a look at the socket i have noticed a pin broken ,so i phoned the retailers and explained my findings , there reply was you must of damaged it and i couldn't RMA the motherboard  ,with being unemployed £242 is a lot for a motherboard to  have it gathering dust , i do reckon this was a customers return and its been sent out to me ,as my friend has the same board and he got the poster and stickers with his and i never.
is there any way i can have the socket repaired and how much would it cost ?
i have been using AMD Gigabyte boards for the past 7 years and never had any problems what so ever until now with this Intel board   >:(

Hi there,

your best bet is to send an e-mail here: returns@gbt-tech.co.uk  as this is the department in the UK that deals with these requests.
Give them as much information as possible as to where and when it was purchased and also the serial number (it is printed on the barcode label on the box) and I am sure they will be able to help you resolve this.

I know it is too late now but you should always inspect the component thoroughly when you first get it. You have much more in the way of rights then. Anyway hopefully Gigabyte will look favourably on your dilemma and replace the socket. Contact the address that absic gave you but if you get no joy try PMing runn3R the Gigabyte Forum Administrator and see if he can help.

You are very welcome and I am glad Gigabyte lived up to what I was saying about them! They are normally very good plus of course are one of the few motherboard manufacturers that have offices in the UK. :)
