Title: Random shut downs

 Okay  guys need your help. I have the X58 G1 Assassin MB. Specs should be in my sig. I have it plugged into a APC battery backup. I let me system run 24/7. Suddenly I have noticed my system is shutting down and the battery back is having issues. I did not have this problem with the last MB. The only changes that have been made are the G1 Assassin MB, and 2 Kingston HyperX 120 SSD. 1 for the OS and one for my software. Other than those three items everything is the same. I just installed the APC battery backup, because my last one. Tripp Lite stopped working. Or at least powering up my system. But seems odd I would have the same problem with 2 different battery backups.
 What should I be looking for? I have looked at voltages using HW Monitor. Some of the Voltages seem off to be very low.

I understand this a is 16Phase system. I DO NOT understand the actual logistics of the 16 phase over the 8 phase. I am guessing that is also why I am seeing 2 sets of voltages in HW monitor. I did upload the Dynamic Energy Saver 2 utility/driver. Since the manual said I had to in order to make use of the 16 Phase power. Could this be my problem?

Hi and welcome.

I have been running a GA-X58A-UD7 on a APC SmartUPS 1500 and that motherboard has 24 phase power but has no problem with the UPS.  A while ago it did start playing up suddenly but it was just that the battery needed renewing. Maybe that is the problem with yours. I can't see any other reason for it misbehaving with your system.

ya, I think I may need a bigger one as well. My APC is only a 750 and the Tripp-Lite is a 1k.  They are both over a year old. I agree the batteries may be finished.
 I did remove the Dynamic Energy Saver 2 Software and moved from the Controlled By Master outlets to a regular ones. Been running all day with out a problem. The Controlled By Master outlets wont even run my monitors. The main reason for the UPS system was to help suppress power surges to the computer and allow the computer to shut down easier on a power outage.

So am I correct, with out the DES2 software running. I DO NOT get the 16phase.

I don't run any of the bundled programs that come with motherboards as I've found them just to troublesome. However as far as I know you are corect. To be able to choose to run both phases at once I think it needs to be running.

I would say that your batteries are gone if they won't even run a monitor on the battery controlled circuits. The regular ones just give a clean supply with no battery backup.

Thanks Mantis, I will see if I can make it through the night. If it does I will try to reinstall the software. My as well test to see what the cause is. I am 99% sure its the battery though.
