Title: GA-M56S-S3 not detecting SCSI HDD size in Windows7
Post by: kai on December 14, 2011, 04:17:38 pm
i have had Win7 running on a PC with an intel board fine.

i put in a new MB GA-M56S-S3 with same Adaptec 29160 SCSI card and same HD. i couldnt reinstall Windows7 as it was reporting the size as 0mb so i installed on a small SATA HD and put the SCSI card and SCSI HD in as a slave but Windows7 was still reporting it as 0mb. i have tried another 29160 and also a 19160 plus a further 3 SCSI HDs and another SCSI cable and they all do exactly the same, report as 0mb. i have tried another PSU.

so to summerise, SCSI card and HD work fine on intel board but dont work in GA-M56S-S3. i had a 2007 BIOS so i have undated to 2010 version and same.

Any ideas? i have RAID turned off in BIOS.
