Title: GA-MA770T-UD3P RAM compatibility
Post by: kichuka on December 17, 2011, 07:13:05 pm
Would there be a compatibility problem to put a motherboard GA-MA770T-UD3P RAM CORSAIR 2x4GB Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz, CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9. It isn't in the list of compatible, so I want to ask here. Thanks in advance.

Hi

The Vengeance  line of memory modules seems to be very compatible in general but it would be sensible to make sure as you are doing ;)

I would suggest using the Corsair website and their motherboard/memory compatibility list.

There show me  only compatible corsair dominator 1333MHZ , but my motherboard is 1666 +. I doubt only dominator is compatible with my motherboard.

Your motherboard may run memory at 1600mhz but the memory controller on your CPU won't like it very much for long. There were many processors burnt out by people overclocking their memory beyond 1333.

Check out this post by my opposite number absic who put a lot of work and investigation into it.

It's my motherboard http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3096#sp rev 1
CPU - AMD Athlon II X3 425 @ 3.25
It's my new RAM -  CORSAIR 2x4GB Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz, CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9.
I put it in the blue slots, because CPU cooler (CM TX3) is biger of the box and I can't put it in the white slots.
RAM working without problem.

You will have to test by yourself ,it s impossible to say . It should work though :)
