Hi,

Well make a comparison between the BIOS for both of the motherboards:

Here is the BIOS for your GA-P67A-UD5 (rev. 1.0).....if that is the right motherboard....here is the BIOS:

http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3647#bios

What is the F7 BIOS for?

Here is the BIOS for the GA-P67A-UD5-B3 (rev. 1.0) see link below:

http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3762#bios

What is the F7 BIOS for here?

hi teknology9
 i have f7 bios already loaded for my GA-P67A-UD5 (rev. 1.0) (date:2011/03/31)
but when i try to update to GA-P67A-UD5-B3 (rev. 1.0) f7 bios (date:2011/10/12) both @bios and flash disk gives me errors: bios id mismatch and bios partnumber mismatch.
is there any way to solve this ?

Hi maverick72  ;)

I am sorry,

Your Bios mobo is only in this webLink :
GA-P67A-UD5 (rev. 1.0)
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3647#bios

If you tried other Bios version for other mobo, it is at your risk.

Sorry for precedent answer.

Gloup_Gloup.

Hi,

Well, I listed the BIOS information for both motherboards because they didn't seem to compare with each other regarding what the F7 BIOS was for....as you can see for yourself.

The F7 BIOS for the GA-P67A-UD5 (B3) states:   "0.Intel 22nm CPU support update"

Here:  http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3762#bios

Whilst the other motherboard F7 BIOS,  GA-P67A-UD5 , states "0.Solve press reset button cause system abnormal"

Here:  http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3647#bios

Also, when it comes to updating the BIOS of a motherboard you should only do so if neccessary and if so use Qflash.......see the link below:

Hi maverick72,
Modified BIOS to flash from B2 to B3 is HERE (http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/28441-gigabyte-latest-beta-bios-3.html#post270423).
It's "F3g1" BIOS for B3 version and you should flash with latest @BIOS (only first time).
Once you flash, reboot, enter BIOS again and using Q-Flash you can flash to latest F7 (or any) BIOS for B3.
More info you can found on XS forum (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?263598-***Official***Z68X-P67A-UD7-Club-Discussion-Info**/page67),hwbot (http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15952&page=45) .

Are you have your HD in AHCI/RAID or IDE ?
I do this with IDE mode.
Please keep backup BIOS for P67.

OK,here is modded BIOS Z68X-UD5-B3 - F10a:

http://www.mediafire.com/?h2phefymnatu2m4

Before flashing, set in the BIOS "Optimized Defaults"and Disable "GSATA" and "eSATA" option.
Also Disable anything what you didn't use.
Before flashing in Windows,with latest @BIOS 2.12,
Untick "Load CMOS Default"!
(Tick Clear DMI data Pool if you want that CPU-Z show Z68X-UD5-B3)
After restart,BIOS will "hang" on BIOS Screen for about 2-3 min.

Modded BIOS to flash back to BIOS P67A-UD5-B3 - F7:

Please read before your flash to:
Refer to this page (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?263598-***Official***-P67A-UD7-Club-Discussion-Info!**/page94).
Refer to this page (http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15952&page=56) and after..

Done without problems, ahci mode works properly- no freeze /hang for 2-3 mins.after the bios update.
I have slight annoying problem for the p67 ud5 (B3) f6-f7 bios though:Sometimes after the restart or if I press reset button 3-4 times repeatedly I'm having"bios checksum error" and then backup bios starts to load.

Hi Maverick72........and Happy New Year.

Well you don't need that do you....lets see if we can get to the bottom of this issue....have a look at the link below;

http://pcguide.com/ts/x/comp/mbsys/bios_Corrupted.htm

http://www.ehow.com/how_6137494_fix-bios-checksum-error.html

http://www.tech-faq.com/cmos-checksum-bad-error.html

Have a read through the links above and see if they help

UPDATE

Have you tried this:

Quote
Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.

Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.

You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.
