Any advice where in the UK these can be purchased??? All the University of Google links point to Australia. Has it been released in the UK?

Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome.

I would suggest contacting GGTS for the answer on that.

Just enter your email address and click on the language of choice. For the UK:

GGTS   http://ggts.gigabyte.com/

Please expect several days for a reply.

I will comment this here, to avoid opening a new thread:

I wish Gigabyte to make the Docking Stations with S/PDIF . I am planning to buy the S1080 to use it basically as a High-quality Music Station, using a USB to SPDIF converter. A Docking Station with optical or coaxial Digital Audio Output would be a plus.  :)

The S1081 will have HDMI if that helps. Should be out soon.

Thank you for the information. There are HDMI to Video and SPDIF converters, but I am not sure if the audio will work when there is no TV connected at the HDMI output. In other words, I am not sure if the S1080 will allow sending the Audio only to the HDMI.

I am wondering that because I have read at the instructions of some Android Tablets that the screen of the tablet goes blank while the HDMI output is used, so it would become a blind brick when there is no TV connected at the output. But I guess that Windows Tablets may not have this problem, because Audio and Video devices are set independently from the Control Panel.

Correct and you can tell Windows that you want your main display to remain on and copy the desktop to the second (HDMI) display.
