Hi Folks,
I'm running a X6 1090T and a pair of 2GB DDR3 HyperX Kingston RAM on the above mentioned mobo.
I'm planning to upgrade the modules, since I've to copy all our MiniDV's to digital format and edit them, I got around 25 hanging around...
There's plenty of work to do...since new ones are being created every two months more or less.
The current offer on the market makes it difficult to decide, I also must say that Gigabyte's Qualified Vendor List for the mobo is not up to date imho.
Hence I decided to check the manufacturer sites and use their RAM Tool instead.
The Kingston ones I'm using are on 1.65v, the gma-u2dh supports 1.5v, more if you OC, but I'm not planning to.
The ones I looked at use lower voltage than Kingston: less heat, less consumption and I assume it is also better for the memory controller of the cpu & they also have life warranty....
What do you think of the below?

4. G-Skill (http://www.gskill.com/configurator2.php?pid=2&model=1511) Couldn't find my model, instead GA-880GM-D2H, don't know if that matters...but no 16GB are offered.
What do you think? Is 16GB overkill, or rather 8GB?
Do you think that the choice is more or less correct?

Hi Ken,
I'm of the old school that says: "You can never have enough memory" and with what you are doing 16GB will be better than 8GB.
I use Corsair Vengeance modules and have done since their release, without any problems so I would recommend that you go for these.

I just purchased ram from newegg and i went from 8 gig to 16 and has made a difference. I have them running at 1600 with 9-9-9-25 timings with just a small bump up from 1.5 they are now at 1.525.

There is the link. only advice make sure you buy 4 x 4 gig sticks in the same kit dont buy 2 x 4 gig sticks in two different packages you could have some problems with running them right buying them all in the same kit improves your chances of compatiablity.

To be honest I had checked the G-skill first, but when I went to the link (http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=358) on their website I read: "Designed For 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors", that's why I thought that these are a no-go.

It was the following response from a gskill employee that actually sold me on them.
This is a very good performance kit, so the performance results should be very good. If you use a higher voltage such as 1.65V, this kit can be capable of DDR3-1866 and DDR3-2133, so there is quite a bit of overclocking room to play with. Go with 16GB ram.. low prices still.. go with Corsair Vegenance.. that's what I have with the same board. 880GMA-UD2H
