Hi, I'm new to Gigabyte Forum and I've no experience of Gigabyte products.
So , what's the best way to connect old IDE drives and IDE DVD recorders to this mainboard that hasn' got any IDE sockets?
A PCIExpress X1 IDE controller card ?
A USB-or-Sata to IDE converter?
Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome.
Either option should work alright but personally I don't like that type of thing as it is prone to faults and slows things down too. If at all possible I would purchase a new SATA hard drive even though these are more expensive now than a few months ago. If money is tight try just buying a small HDD of say 250GB or something which you can still use later for a boot drive. The optical drives are still very cheap and you can get a fast DVD drive for £12 ish.
