Title: GA-Z77-D3H turns itself on after shut down
Post by: shay3203 on May 23, 2012, 07:16:04 pm
Hi,

I have the following system:

Giga-Byte GA-Z77-D3H (bios F13l)
i7-3770
Kingston 16GB Ram
SeaSonic  M12II-620
Windows 7 x64

why does my pc turn on automatically after i press shut down in windows 7 64bit?
i press shutdown not restart instead and when i press shout down the power is shutting
down but goes back on after two seconds?

Thanks,
Shay.

Hi

I wqould suggest that you try clearing the CMOS by following these instructions:

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery overnight  before replacing it.

Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.

You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

Also synchronise both BIOS chips so that they are the same version. ALT+F12 when booting.

Hi,

I did what you said and it seems to work...

But i didn't manage to synchronise both BIOS,
when i tried to press ALT + F12 nothing happened.

I used a ps/2 keyboard and i tried it from a cold start of the system but still nothing happened,
So how can i synchronise the second BIOS?

Thanks,
Shay.

ALT + F10

Check your F_PANEL (Front Panel Header) connection of the power switch/reset switch.

How you get F13l BIOS?

The front panel header is Okay the power button and reset switch are working fine.
It happens only when i'm shutting down windows, when i hit shutdown in: "start"->"shut down"
or when i hit the shut down switch in windows, then the windows is shutting down and the whole
system also shutting down but after 2 second after the whole system shutdown it goes back on by itself.

ALT + F10 Also isn't working and i meant i have F13 BIOS not F13l my Mistake.

I got exactly the same problem on my Gigabyte Z77X-D3H with BIOS F18i. After I shut PC down, it automacially turns on! :S
Everything worked fine, before I flashed to the latest BIOS.

Hi,  ;)

If you have set the parameters ( energy saving ) Enabled in your operating system (Linux or Windows) ...
Check Alimentation options in Config Pannel.

It is normal that if you touch your keyboard or mouse or even sometimes because of too much senstibilité mouse, it may happen that the computer restarts itself.

Do you use a  WOL? Wake On LAN?

It will see the bios settings on the WOL, ERP, or PME Event Wake Up and choose option Disabled.

Check in your manual or .pdf file about your motherboard.

So if you have a questions, come here , do not take fear.. Smiley
