I have a bit of a problem with my system (see sig below). I have been able to get it stable at 4 GHZ using a X20 multiplier and a Vcore of 1.408 volts. Strangely, when I DROP Vcore by 1 step to 1.376 volts it runs OK until I try running Prime95.
Then Vcore goes to 1.536 volts and the core temperature climbs above 50 degrees C. Clearly unsustainable.
This seems very strange. I stepped up Vcore a step at a time. All resulted in predictable Vcore - EXCEPT 4th step to 1.376 volts.
Does this seem to be a BIOS problem? Do other people see this effect? Any explanations?
I will run at 5 steeps (1.408 V) but would like to drop down a notch. Suggestions?

Does your board have Load line control ?
If so, set it to 'norm' and be sure performance boost is disabled.
I'll be surprised if that chip wil do 4ghz on less than 1.4v.... but it doesn't hurt that much to try. heh..
