Title: Monitor connected to displayport doesn't show BIOS screen
Post by: Goldorak on July 06, 2012, 01:56:08 am
Hi,

I have a GA-Z77X-UD3H motherboard with the latest BIOS and the BIOS screen doesn't show up when I connect my monitor to the displayport of the motherboard (not a graphic card, the displayport on the motherboard itself i.e. the Intel HD4000).

The "Init display first" BIOS setting is set to "IGFX". The display doesn't wake up at boot time, only at the Windows 7 login screen, so I can't see/modify any BIOS settings. There is no adapter of any sorts on my cable, just a straight displayport cable with full size connectors on both ends.

If I connect a DVI cable instead of displayport, I don't have the problem. By the way the problem is not my monitor (a Dell U2410) because the displayport works fine on my other computer with a graphic card; the problem seems to be the HD4000 graphic on the GA-Z77X-UD3H motherboard.

So how can I make the display port work correctly? Is it a bug?

Thanks.

Hi

The problem you arte having is that you have your monitor connected via a Display Port connection but are not using a powered(active) adapter. Either get an active adapter or connect the other port to one of your monitors.
