Title: Warranty start date question?
Post by: dx90 on July 19, 2012, 06:48:18 pm
Hi,

I was just about to purchase a Gigabyte motherboard but I have a concern about the start date of the warranty.

I understand from what I have read that the warranty starts from the manufactured date of the motherboard is this correct?

If the above is correct how can I tell what date the board was made and is this infomation clearly visible on the box?

Hi

Yes, production date is encoded in serial number:

Where to find SN sticker on the MB: http://ggts.gigabyte.com/eService/mb_sn.htm or VGA: http://ggts.gigabyte.com/eService/vga_sn_e.htm
The sticker with SN is also located on the box.

Just to add to what runn3R has already posted, the date of manufacture is normally not very much previous to the purchase date but of course it does depend on the turnover of the retailer.
