Title: Computer getting restarted after installing the OS to the SATA disk?
Post by: shehan_03510 on December 04, 2009, 08:23:38 am
Hello,

I have a GIGABYTE G31M-ES2L and the HDD (SATA) is 320GB Samsung one and another IDE(ATA) 40GB HDD.
My issue is I have the SATA drive as the master and the OS is getting installed (tried with WinXP and Win7) the PC is getting restarted.Tried to change the Bios settings but still its the same. But when I install the same to the old IDE (ATA) drive, its working fine and the SATA drive is accessible and can work without no error.
I want to install the OS to the SATA drive. Please help me..
I wanna know whether this is a HDD error or a BIOS configuration issue.
Please assist me...

Thanks,
Shehan.

Have you updated to latest BIOS? Also try running a HDD diagnostic available from manufacturers website.
