Title: GA-EP35C-DS3R q6600 overclock dilema
Post by: gica on December 11, 2009, 08:04:15 pm
On the above I'm trying to use the 8x400 for a 3.20 cpu speed.I tried all the ratios and the only one that allows it to boot is 3.0 which is 2/3 which give a 1200mhz,but Prime95 freezes the PC.My memory is Crucial 1.65V DDR3 1333 7-7-7-24.I'm running 9x333 with 4.0# (1/2)ratio 1.625vcoe just fine.I've been reading on Gigabyte memory(confusing) and cpu multiplier settings and for the 8x clock it's impossible to get a stable setup.Any help would be appreciated.

Run a memtest to check memory is stable. Also your Northbridge is going to need a voltage increase aswell. You may also want to try downclocking your memory to 800mhz so it runs 1:1 ratio with the FSB.
