Graphic cards / Re: Small niggle with Gigabyte Control Centre/HDMI

Since I don't use GCC and Gigabyte GPU's, let me research a bit.  You might be on to something with the connections.

Greetings,
If you are referring to the pipes where the fins are located, they are aluminum.  I'm all for replacing the thermal pads after you take things apart.  Make sure you purchase the correct thickness.  (probably 1-2mm).  New heat paste on the GPU is also good.  Clean first, remove all residue.  Apply an adequate amount of new paste > sparingly.  Too little can create hot spots, too much can affect heat dissipation and transfer.

As far as adding liquid metal.  That I would not do.  ;)

Hello,

I want to apply liquid metal to the aoeus elite 3060ti. Is the area around the copper heat pipes made out of aluminum, or nickel?

Thx

Graphic cards / Small niggle with Gigabyte Control Centre/HDMI

I hope I have the correct forum for this.

Question: When I start GCC, it launches half way across my secondary (HDMI) monitor and I have to drag it across to my Primary (DP) display. If I close it and launch again, it launches correctly thereafter on my Primary display. Could this be something to do with interference between on-board HDMI and the GPU HDMI port?

Background:
I just replaced my Z690 Aorus Elite AX with a Z790 Aorus Elite AX ICE v1.0 MB and use my existing GPU. All the latest drivers and GCC version are installed.  I have my primary 5K monitor connected to the DP ports (5k needs both) on the GPU and my secondary connected to the HDMI port. The on-board HDMI/DP ports are not used.  I never had this problem with the old motherboard so I'm wondering if there's some BIOS setting I've overlooked. I remember having to disable the on-board HDMI to prevent Windows prioritizing it at boot but I don't think this is the same issue.

Any advice would be welcome. TIA

Hi all,

Alll of a sudden I have lost my Marvell® AQtion 10GbE BASE-T.  It was showing as a hidden device but has now disappeared after a fresh Windows re install. The indications something was wrong was during the windows install, it was not going straight on line for the set up of features. Got round that with a network adaptor and on finishing the install, device manager showed the network card as hidden, now it has gone altogether.

Any suggestions. The mother board is not a year old.

Seems like this was a Windows issue rather than the BIOS
