GA-Z77X-UP5 TH - Compatible power supply units..
« on: December 07, 2012, 01:44:02 pm »
Hi all,

I have a nice new GA-Z77X-UP5 TH motherboard, with Kingston memory, Corsair cooling system and a Corsair CX 750 PSU.

I built the machine yesterday and had problems with it starting.

After trying a different power supply from another machine, the machine started 100% okay.
I tried this new power supply in the other machine, and that also worked 100% okay.

Plugging this Corsair PSU back, the new machine still does not work (it loops before getting to the BIOS, with code C6 on the LED display).

I have seen a site (http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/mainboards/display/gigabyte-ga-z77x-up4-up5-th_12.html) where they talking about incompatible power supplies.

My question is: is my Corsair CX 750 compatible? If not, what PSUs are compatible?

What PSUs are people using with this board?

I need at least 750W, as I have 32GB RAM, a GTX 660 Ti, i7-3770K CPU, 1 SSD and 2 HDD, plus DVD-RW to plug in.

All help is appreciated.
