I have recently brought a XFX R7850 graphics card, and decided to reformat my desktop to Windows 7 Ultimate with SP1 intergrated on to a different hard drive. However, last night I noticed after installing the graphics drivers that my TV (connected via HDMI) wants to display at 1080p 10 bit once it loads into Windows. Before that (ie during post and the animation screen) it displays as 1080p.
I still have the old hard drive (which runs Windows 7 Home Premium) with the appropiate drivers installed, but I never noticed if it was running in 1080p or 1080p 10 bit. However I will double check.
Anyway my question is this: what is 1080p 10 bit? Is it better or worse than 1080p?
Im asking as I havent seen this before on either of my previous cards I had before (Nvidia GT240 and Radeon HD4670) and Im not sure if theres a problem with Windows or the drivers or the card. Im currently using AMD's 12.104.0.0 driver.

Memory: Corsair Vengence low profile 8GB (2x 4GB sticks)
CPU: 970BE stock
Other monitors attached: none (need DVI connverter for my "normal" montor as it only has SVGA in - yeah I know I need a new one
