Blank screen and six seconds long beeps

Blank screen and six seconds long beeps
« on: April 29, 2013, 09:54:09 pm »
Hello  :D

My pc shuts down normally last night. Today I only have blank screen (no signal - good monitor) and six seconds long bios beeps (6" long beep - 2"/3" silence - 6" long beep - 2"/3" silence - 6" long beep - 2"/3" silence - etc).

MOBO Model GA-73PVM-S2H
Its user's manual says long beeps from motherboard speaker usually indicates a problem with the graphic card BUT it hasn't (it has an onboard one).

I taked  it from his case off and examined it carefully, and there's no sign of leaking or bulging capacitors or any other visible fault. All the fans still spins.

I tried with same result:
1) Unplug all the peripherals from the motherboard.
2) Replace power supply.
3) Replace processor.
4) Replace memory module.
5) Start with no memory module.
6) Extended clear of CMOS by removing the power and motherboard battery.

Any ideas?
 ???

Thanks in advance!

It sounds like the video chip went bad. If that chip is bad. I could be wrong but it will not even work with video card installed.

You were right dmdilks sadly  :-\  but thanks for answer.

I tried with a working video card but nothing changed.... same long beep and no video signal.

So... there is some kind of fix or should I throw it away?

PS: could be another problem or is this the final diagnosis (bad video chip)

when you tried with the working video card, did you make sure the bios was set to see the video card before the onboard?

Have you carefully checked your CPU socket to make sure you have no bent pins?
