Which ones better?

Which ones better?
« on: June 16, 2013, 01:18:51 pm »
My current board has an issue where the SATA II ports have stopped working as its an early GA-P67A-UD4. Therefore as I need more than my current 2 working SATA III ports I need a new motherboard of a comparable level of the UD4. These are the two options I'm currently looking at

1) My current GA-P67A-UD4 board but with B3 stepping

2) a new Z77X-D3H

Would like to hear your opinions on these choices. Is the Ud4 still a good board or am I better to get a new d3h I can source both these boards for about the same price. The board will be used for minor overclocking of an i5 2500k for gaming. Thanks

I see this motherboard:

GA-Z68X-UD4-B3 (rev. 1.0)
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3849#sp

GA-Z77X-D3H (rev. 1.1)
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4325#ov
HDMI, DVI, RGB

For the rear connections , the best are:
GA-Z77X-UD3H (rev. 1.1)
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4441#ov
HDMI, DVI, RGB and Display Port
And the sound, is better ....

It is important to have a Display Port , for monitor.
The resolution are better, more higher.

Is it too expensive for you?

You would better off going with the GA-Z68X-UD4-B3 with that CPU. The sandy bridge doesn't play well with the Z77 boards.

If you going to a Z77 get a Ivory bridge CPU. This Ivory CPU supports 3.0 video cards where the sandy doesn't.

Z77X-D3H for sure.
Z68X is almost ETA.
