Gigabyte GA55-UD3 problem
« on: February 10, 2016, 08:57:38 pm »
Hi guys.
I have got quite old Gigabyte motherboard GA55-UD3. I was using 2x2GB DDR3 1600 G-Skill Rip and it works fine. Today I bought HyperX Blue Fury DDR 1600 2x8GB CL10. After RAM upgrade windows (7 64) wont start, PC freezes at windows loading screen. When I plugged only one stick into motherboard PC is continually resetting after producer logo. I set clocking to 1600,raise voltage, took off battery from motherboard, reset bios and upgrade it to latest version. Nothing helped.

I looked on GA55-UD3 Ram compatibility and there is no HyperX Ram but that documentation is from 2009 :/

here are some screens:

The thing is that it will support 16gb of memory but it might not support 8gb sticks. I'll have try it on my board I just happen to have one just like yours.

Just tested my board did the same thing that yours does. So you might have to get 4x4gb of memory sticks. Plus get 1333 memory too. You are not going to see any difference between the two 1333 & 1600. Because you CPU really only support 1066/1333 memory.
