GA-X58A-UD3R & G.SKILL PIS Series 4GB @ 2200 help please.

So here is my story, first I got this ram from new egg:  G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) it runs @ 2000 (PC3 16000) but the mobo only detected it @ 1066, enabling X.M.P it would detect  the right timings and speed.  then I got the G.SKILL PIS Series 4GB that run @ 2200 (PC3 17600) but again on default settings it would only detect it as 1066 but now if I enable X.M.P and save and reboot the mobo will not boot.
I did notice on the specs of the mobo that it supports 2200 ram so I'm confused and so i got to couple of questions please:

1.  Are the PIS memories not supported by the mobo? or what do I need to change in the bios to make them work at the right speed?
2. since both of the high speed rams didn't work should I just buy low speed memory like 1066 or 1333? any recommendations?
3.  any guides that I can follow to configure my bios correctly?
4 .  Last non related question, any way that I can disable the ide socket on the mobo from being detected at boot time? I noticed that it always looks for 2 ide devices at boot, and I don't plan to use ide drives so I would like to disable it like in any other mobo out there.

My specs are intel Core 17 930GA-X58A-UD3R
GA-X58A-UD3R
30GB SSD + couple more sata HDDs
8800 Geforce from EVGA
2 sata DVD Drives
Antec 900 case
Antec 750 wattt PS
and the either of the two memories mentioned above.  (links below)
