GA-Z97M-D3H + MSI GTX 970 4G GAMING: No Signal
« on: January 10, 2016, 03:48:25 pm »
Hi,

I recently bought my new MSI GTX 970 but I'm getting a "no signal" message from any connection, HDMI, DVI or Display Port. Sometimes I'm getting flickering in the POST as well as in Windows, that is, if it gets there.

If I remove the 970 and install another card (GTX 680 for example) everything works fine, also if I enable onboard graphics.

If I connect the 970 in another motherboard, it works like a charm.

I've tried :
- Disabled onboard graphics
- Old and latest drivers (uninstalling previous drivers with DDU "Display Driver Uninstaller" for a clean install)
- Clear CMOS
- Update BIOS
- 6 and 8 pins are well connected
- I've tested with 2 different monitors
- Tried several power and hdmi cables

Specs :
Board: GA-Z97M-D3H
BIOS:  Latest version (F8)
VGA:   MSI GTX 970 4G GAMING
PSU:  Sentey 750W (SCP750-HM)
CPU:  Intel® Core™ i7-4770 Processor
MEM: 2x8GB, 2400MHz G.Skill Trident F3-2400C10D-16GTX
HDD/SSD: Kingston 240GB ssdNOW
COOLER: Corsair H60i
OS: Windows 7 64bit Ultimate

The only thing I can think of is a compatiblity problem between GA-Z97M-D3H and MSI GTX 970. Does this make any sense?

The problem was between the board and the graphic card, MSI GTX 970 is not compatible with gigabyte z97m-d3h,

I'm waiting for gigabyte to update BIOS for more compatibility, the same issue was with Z77X-UD3H, but I updated to the latest BIOS and it worked, in the F16 BIOS version, gigabyte added support to new graphic cards.

Thanks!
