2 hdds, one good old xp, one win7. Booting the win 7, all is fine, ports runs at 2.0.
But booting the xp, and all ports run at 1.1 speed. Inserting a 2.0 usb-stick will result in the
"this device can perform faster......" - message. This stick has no problems in win 7. Reinstall intel chipset-drivers (from gigabyte download), and all is fine again (ports run at 2.0 speed, no message). BUT: When I reboot the xp drive, its back at 1.1 speed again. Device manager shows 2 entries for "Intel ich10 family usb enhanced host controller", 6 entires for "Intel ich10 family usb universal host controller", and 2 entries for "Renesas Electronics usb 3.0 host controller". This display in device manager is the same when I boot the win 7 hdd where there is no problem with the usb`s. Cant get rid of this nasty problem. What is happening when I reboot the xp hdd ? Usb reverts back to 1.1, why
Registry problem ?
