I have a GA-Z68XP-UD3 rev 1.0 board running BIOS F-10 and it has served me well since purchased back in Oct 2011. I installed some newer faster CL memory in it several months back and that went well. What I notice is at very infrequent times (month/s passed) when going into the BIOS it will have reverted the memory timings back to 9-9-9-24 for no apparent reason. I set them up via the XMP profiles offered. It offers two profiles (Profile 1 & Profile 2). When I installed the memory initially I replaced the battery on the board and cleared the CMOS. The motherboard has all current chipset/drivers installed. Board is not CPU clocked.

The memory used is:

G-Skill Trident X F3-1600C7D-16GTX CL-7-8-8-24 1.5v (8192MBx2)

System is as follows:

Windows 10 Pro version 1703 build 15063.250
Core i5-2500K (unclocked)
Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 rev1.0 (BIOS F-10)
16GB DDR3 (see above for specs)
XFX HD Radeon 7870DD 2GB (Crimson 17.4.3)

I didn't see this memory on the QVL for your board.

your 2500k SandyBridge CPU supports 1066/1333Mhz RAM natively

Most DDR3 1600Mhz ram SPD detects at 1333Mhz

9 or 10 CAS memory is the most common for 1600Mhz DDR3 memory.  Your Trident 7-8-8-24 is super low CL and fast.  These timings should be supported by your board, but maybe not this particular kit using XMP Profile under this BIOS rev.

Note, all of the CAS 7 memory modules listed as supported are 7-8-7-24

I'd try setting your memory timing manually and @1.5v without XMP.  That said a newer or older BIOS (if available) might support your RAM using XMP.  I am not suggesting that you upgrade/downgrade your BIOS since manual settings will likely work.

On G Skills QVL..  But not Gigabytes (which is what I was referencing).  If you are unable to get the memory to function using XMP with F10, your options would be to try a different BIOS rev or manual settings.  You can also test your RAM, but I'm fairly confident its working fine.

I'm able to get the XMP profiles to work but at some point later usually several weeks or more I'll notice the timings went back to 9-9-9-24

Looking at the specs of the 2500K I'm guessing it's defaulting back to the 9-9-9-24 1333mhz which is what the i5 2500K calls for spec wise. I'm going to look at possibly getting my hands on a 3770K which this board supports.
