MB GA-Z170-HD3P - can't load the BIOS
« on: December 06, 2017, 09:46:58 pm »
Hello. I just bought GA-Z170-HD3P (rev. 1.0) for my new PC.

Installed 7th Generation Intel® Core™ i3-7350K Processor and 2 x  4GB DDR4 2400 Kingston Hyper X Fury - HX424C15FB/4.

After first starting the PC just heard 5 long beeps and PC restart. Again 5 long beeps and restart. CPU fan and LED on board is working but cannot boot the BIOS at all to install the Windows. Also the monitor doesn't show anything on the MB D-Sub port. For now i am not plugged GPU and using D-Sub port on the MB.

So I read what the problem could be:

- Bios version is old and can't support my 7 gen CPU
- Maybe RAM DDR4 is the problem because mine installed is not in the Support list.

Please for your help. Where the problem could be? How can I see the MB Bios version without access to boot menu?
Should I change the RAM with DDR4 2133MHz, HX421C14FBK4/16 which is in the support list? What these 5 long beeps means?

Greetings,
I say it was one or the other.  Try removing one of the sticks of RAM and retest.

Your CPU requires F20 or later BIOS rev.

Word of caution, Do not flash F20, Flash to F21 or later.  A good PC repair shop can help you flash to an updated BIOS rev if needed.
