I guess that you are just plain lucky then as the @BIOS program is very dangerous and we always advise using the QFlsah utility instead. Any other program  or driver is better off being downloaded from the website as it will be more up to date.

Hi there,

you don't give us much to go on here and the reason you can't install from the CD can be due to many things.

That said, like Dark Mantis,  I would not use any of the software from the install disk and it is much better if you download the Software and drivers that you need from the support page for your motherboard as they are usually more up to date.

Agreed that not everything is on the utilities website but most things are including the dreaded @BIOS if you insist in using it.

Hi,

I understand your frustration but my original comment about a lack of information  still holds.

If you could post back with this information giving your full system specs and operating system  it would help, as the problem of not being able to read from the disk can be due to many issues.

Whether it has anything to do with this problem or not I would adviswe you to replace your PSU with a decent one before damage happens to your equiptment. There are many scare stories on the net of this and to be honest you wouldn't expect  anything else for the price. You really need to pay more that £20 for a reasonable PSU.

To be perfectly honest I wouldn't really expect the PSU to be that cause of your immediate problem but if they go they can take a lot of expensive hardware with them. Also it is fairly low powered (even if it actually is this power output which is debatable) and even though you don't have a power hungry system I would suggest getting something in the region of 600- 650W and a single 12V rail if possible. Any bigger would be fine as it will only use the power it needs.
