GA-E350N-USB3 Board doesn't starts

GA-E350N-USB3 Board doesn't starts
« on: May 12, 2011, 02:20:17 pm »
I've tryed to update the BIOS of the GA-E350N-USB3 board and now the board doesn't starts.
I've done a clear CMOS with the power cord unplugged and the battery removed during a day and even it didn't fixed it.
The DualBIOS feature doesn't work so how could I force a BIOS repari in the board or how could I fix this?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte forum.

Try this although it might take more than one go.

1. Turn off PSU from wall
2. Hold case power button in and turn on at wall.
3. As soon as board shows signs of life turn off at wall.
4. Turn on at wall again and press power button.

I tryed more than 10 times the above metod but it didn't worked... I'm still trying it but with no good news!  :'(

Also, is there a way of connecting a pc speaker to the board and ear the POST beeps?

You can get a small speaker to connect up to the motherboard although nowadays a solid state buzzer is more usual. Very cheap, just make sure that you connect it the right way round to the F_PANEL connections marked SPKR at the bottom right hand side of the motherboard.

Although basically the same try following this instead of my other instructions as it might be easier to follow.

You can kick in the backup BIOS by shutting down the PSU from the wall, then hold down your case power button in and then turn on the power supply button, a few seconds later the board will start, shut off the power supply then.   Then you can turn on the power supply again and power up the board normally and DualBIOS will kick in.

There's no such thing as SPKR on this board. Tht's why I asked if there's any other place to connected the speaker (or buzzer that I have).
Anyway, I'm not getting any results with this procedurethat you indicate4d....  :'(

Hi,

if the procedures for kicking in the back-up BIOS have failed, I would recommend that you RMA the board.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

It's what I did today. send it to RMA unfortunately.  >:(
Anyway, do you guys know if it's possible to connect the speaker or buzzer?

Sorry I don't know the answer to this one but I have asked Gigabyte the question and will post back when I get a reply.

No there isn't a place to connect the buzzer on this board. I had forgotten that some of these boards for some reason that I don't profess to understand can't be fitted with a speaker or buzzer. :-\

Just to say that DM is right on this as I have had confirmation from Gigabyte.

There is actually no buzzer fitted to the board and you can't attach one! They didn't offer an explanation as to why the User's Manual mentions the POST beeps but I guess it is due to the copy and paste method that the manuals seem to be produced with.  :-\

I was just asking where's the speaker because sometimes, and this is one of that times, it's good to ear some beeps and boops to know what's going on...
Another thing that it's not very good with this board is that it detects bad the SPD of the DDR3 memory and it has a 1.6V default for the DDR3 and that it's not the standard... I had to configure it manually to get it right and stable.
Thanks for your help guys!

No problem and you are very welcome. Often the memory needs setting manually esdpecially if you are filling the banks. It does seem stupid not to be able to fit a buzzer though and I have come across this before.
