RS2BL040 - Intel RAID Controller

RS2BL040 - Intel RAID Controller
« on: June 01, 2011, 07:53:24 pm »
Hi,

Does anyone know whether the Intel RAID Controller (RS2BL040) is compatible with the Gigabyte motherboard GA-X48-DS4?
In the Intel specifications it says that the card has a form factor "Low profile, MD2". Also not sure whether the "x8 PCI Express Generation 2 host" also works with the motherboard.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Mike

Very hard to say unless you can find someone that has this hardware with the board you quoted, Intel tend to rarely supply compatibility tables for competitor platforms...... my gut feeling says you should get 3Gb/s but you might be lucky and get the 6Gb/s  that it's capable of.

Another thing in your favour is it's Gigabyte, if there's a board out there that might support it...................

I'd be tempted to "Goggle" the two in combination and allocate an hour for reading, you just might find a reference if you use the "Cache" search option.

Thanks for your answer.

I tried to find any hint on the combination, but with no luck. I then gave it a go and purchased the card.
It works beautifully!!!
