Can not load audio drivers with GA-X58A-UD7 (rev 2) 64 bit WINDOWS XP SP2

I can not load the audio drivers for GA-X58A-UD7 (rev 2) using 64 bit WINDOWS XP SP2. I have tried several times and they always show up as yellow question marks on the windows device manager.

Is this a known bug?  Has anyone made the audio on this motherboard work with 64 bit XP?

Please help. Thanks Jay.

I tried them all and none of them will install.

Who is responsible for testing these drivers?  The motherboard or the chip maker?

Both! ...but if you have an axe to grind....the chip maker!........Sound drivers.....especially Realtek, are very fussy about unloading old drivers to the point of asking to be rebooted prior to install of new the drivers......try this but continue sharpening axe.

Pierre,

If your UD5 uses the same sound chip as my UD7, and you are using Windows XP 64 bit, can you give me the specific link or filename that worked for you?

Thanks,
Jay

Last is WDM_R262.exe

Never found problem with Realtek Sound with all my motherboards with this chipset

Manually you can also extract WDM_R252 with WinRar and install manually driver in WDM_R262\WDM folder

Problem Fixed. A Gigabyte tech suggested the main problem was with the video driver -- not the audio driver. I reinstalled the latest Nvidia driver then after that, I installed the audio driver again -- and it was fixed.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Happy sailing,
Jay
