Hi there Xtreme512:
I have a EP43-UD3L and am currently using 2 Crucial M4 64GB SSD's as boot drives for
two different Linux OS's.
I haven't had any problems with the SSD's at all.
They were recognized right away and have never had any boot problems.
They do make a huge difference in boot times and file transfer times.
They are SATA III drives and the mobo is SATA II, but they run fine.
The only thing I would suggest is that you research "consumer" reviews on the drives before you buy one. Places like newegg.com or tigerdirect.com have good reviews, and there are other retail sites that have consumer reviews.
Most of the reviews done by web sites are short term tests, and don't go into the reliability of
the drives.
I prefer long term reliability over speed.
I hope this has been of some help to you.
