Your operating system is what decets ram go to my computer and right click it and go to properties and see if it says 4 gigs of ram or less. That being said only time id update bios is when you are having a problem or need it to support a different processor. Also dont use @bios for updating bios please use QFlash and make sure to uncheck keep dmi box.
