GA-Z68XP-UD3-iSSD, unknown disk at startup. Booting not possible
« on: September 04, 2012, 03:09:10 pm »
My system has been running fine with my 20gb ssd for about 9 months.

Yesterday the problems started with the intel rapid storage software. It started with disconnecting one of my drives (not the cached drive..!!)
and within a minute (sometimes longer) it reconnected the drive again. After about half an hour this stopped.
For safety I disabled the caching just to be sure, and restarted the pc. No problems so far.

This morning my system gave me the error "Unknown disk". Unfortunately this was my W7 disk, so I cannot longer use my pc. I know that my disks
are fine (checked that yesterday) and that my W7 is still ok (Disabled for a moment Extreme HD, W7 shows the logo for a moment, and then reboots, which is obvious, because it only runs okay with Extreme HD enabled.)

Why is my system giving me the "Unknown disk error"?  W7 was my cached drive, with the safest caching method. Is this because I disabled the caching on my drive? If so, how do I enable this again, as I cannot start W7.
