Power on delay - gigabyte x58a-ud3r Rev 1.0

Hi everybody,

I have delay when i press the power on button

it takes 10 seconds to get signal to the screen and bios POST appear

Same thing on restart 10 seconds to go to POST

my system specification

Gigabyte x58a-ud3r REV 1.0
4 GB Ram OCZ Gold
Gigabyte HD Radeon 5850 1 GB
Zalman quite cooler
Intel Core i7 920 Bloomfield
1 TB Storage WD Caviar Black
SSD Samsung 128GB 830 Series
Current PSU : Superb 720 - Gigabyte


I noticed there is 2 yellow LEDS and 2 are green

the LEDS that are beside the RAM

in the following order from top to bottom

Yellow
Green
Yellow
Green

What does that mean?

it disappears as soon as POST finishes

please help me find a solution to this

is it my PSU high voltage or is failing? or the board is dead?

Does the motherboard function correctly once it is booted up ?

The only thing I can think of to try in this case would be to clear the CMOS. Follow these instructions:


Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for one hour before replacing it.
 
Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.
 
You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

I have did what you advised me, still same problem delay on getting bios post on boot and restart

yes it functions correctly but this is the issue i am getting

Could a defective PSU cause that?

In your bios turn off the Gigabyte flash screen, it hides some booting info, Same board as me and you do get a bit of a delay from pressing the power on switch. The you see earlier info without the flash screen.

There is no difference if i hide the logo or show it the delay still there.
i noticed there is no Green color on case (the hard drive that is pin connected in board color is green) only after the delay time elapsed.

Gigabyte boards are slow to boot. I looked at your youtube link and that seemed normal to me!

My Board takes the same time to boot as yours it does sit there a while before anything appears its almost as if its waiting for the power supply to build up and the HDD to run up to speed first.
I counted to at least 12 seconds before my board posted anything.
