ex-58 ud5 graphic card problem
« on: January 09, 2010, 05:41:00 pm »
have a x58 ud5 motherboar with core i7 920  6 gb Ram ocz gold (3x2gb) triple channel and a Nvidia quadrofx 3400 pci-e
The graphic card is recognized only by Windows xp 64 bit edition. I've tried xp 32bit, vista 32, vista 64, win7 32, win7 64bit but no luck
In windows xp 32 bit when i try to install the drivers , the setup recognized a nvidia card and tries to install the driver , but in the middle of the proces the screen goes black and only a blinking cursor is visible. Waited 5 hours but nothing happens. With the other operating systems the Nvidia setup ends with an error message "No compatible hardware found". In windows xp 64 everything works fine.
Tryed the card in another computer , works fine and installs with windows xp 32
Tryed another card with my computer Ati 2900 xt and works fine.
Corrected in bios the timing of the ram not recognized correctly by the motherboard but again no luck with my Quadro.
Any ideas ?

Hi,
Have you tried removing drivers in safe mode, then reinstall new downloaded drivers?
cheers

Yes tried that in windows xp 32. In vista and win7 x32 or x64  the card is not identified even as an nvidia graphic adapter.
Tried to install many versions of nvidia drivers , same thing.
