GA-M55S-S3 rev 1.1 BIOS F10 update, not compatible with 64-bit windows 7?

Hi guys,

My problem says it all in the title. My 1TB external HDD suddenly turned into a 32MB cache. I as the normal protocol panicked like mad as this has all of my files on it, pictures, videos, music etc and is irreplaceable. After 4 hours of searching managed to find out it was something to do with my motherboard (hence why I am here), The BIOS F10 update for my GA-M55S-S3 rev 1.1, isnt compatible with the operating system (windows 7 (64-bit)).

Any ideas on what to do?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Jordan.

Hi there,

You are trying to update the BIOS incorrectly as they are not dependent on the OS that you are running. You need to use either QFlash or the @BIOS utility to actually update your BIOS.  Personally I would recommend using the QFlash utility and if you are not sure how to update your BIOS using this feature then check the FAQ here: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,2441.0.html
