GA-F2A85X-D3H temperature bugs?
« on: February 25, 2013, 01:22:39 pm »
HI, i got this motherboard 1 week and there is no  good program for temperature sensor from this motherboard,
even in bios temperature is very wierd,
not 3d view -
temperature = 45 C
and on 3d view when you hit on cpu+ram (right panel appears)
temperature = 35-40
when i return to not 3d view there is still 45 C
so whats is going on with this temperature sensor? or its some issue with bios? bug?

bios version : F2

What APU are you using ?!

The APU included sensors will show low/abnormal temperatures when the APU is idle but the precision of them will increase when moving towards the limit of the cip.HW Monitor should pick this sensors up
The mobo sensor for the CPU will show close to reality temperatures ,but not very accurate.

On APU-s the GPU side will generate the most heat for the silicon.
Maximum temperatures are around ~70 Celsius , so if you are not close to them ignore the readings ,they are useless.

Looking at the temperatures in BIOS is nice ,but useless.
Over & Out !

AMD FX (APU-s included) users should install - KB2645594 & KB2646060 under Windows 7

1.ASUS Sabertooth 990FX 2.0 + FX 6300 + H60
2.MSI A88X-G41 PC Mate + A8 5600K + Hyper TX 2
3.Gigabyte F2A75-D3H + A4 5300
4.ASUS AM1M-A + Athlon 5150

i have A8-5600k, sometimes i have around 65 C on stress but i have bought a good cooler (thermaltake contac 29+ IC diamond 7) so i think it will be much cooler (-5 C) - (-8C), then i  will overclock to 4,0Ghz

hello,
i got GA-F2A85X-D3H and APU 6600k, and HW Monitor report me:

MotherBoard:   temp1: 30ºC idle     50ºC - 60ºC: full load
                         temp2: 25ºC idle     50ºC - 55ºC: full load

APU:  temp: 60ºC idle      90ºC - 100º: full load

Graphics (APU): temp: 0ºC     50ºC: full load

My cooler is a Nocuta NH-U9B
Bios v.: F3

Are normal these temps? I have been told that the motherboard does not report temperatures well, or maybe the APU...
Anyone can help me?

Thanks... and sorry for my english :)

The temps are kind of high in my opinion ,but we can t know if they are right :)

I am using a 5600K with a A 75 chipset (see signature) and the reported temperatures go to 56 Celsius overclocked  to 4,0 Ghz CPU Turbo /3,8Ghz  base ,NB at 2200Mhz and video depending on the needs to even 930Mhz.Temps are steady and very low in idle, in both XP or W7.

I have observed strange behavior ,by default ,with the Gigabyte board and i had to put LLC on medium. There was a lot of voltage oscillation and was easily hitting 1,5 or more instead of 1,475V with Auto setting.
I have also installed a Cooler Master TX 2 copper heat pipe 125W TDP CPU cooler on it.

There may be a problem with the BIOS settings and internal sensor readings in your case.

Try fiddle with the LLC settings and see what happens.

You should be able to reach nice overclocks with that APU and performance increase is really touchable in games ,COH 2 for example.

It will also run BF BC2 art 1920X1080 on max details but with minimum AA and AF settings. You can change the shared RAM amount to 2 Gigs

Most probable there are some glitches with the BIOS ,mine needed a F5 to be somehow ok but still needs optimizations from Gigabyte.

Maybe you should ask Gigabyte for a newer BIOS.

LE: the APU temperature you show may be the CPU VRM one in fact  and the motherboard the APU one.

Touch the APU heatsink when in load ,if it s warm but not excessive the APU temp is ok.

I manually set all the parameters of the motherboard. I Touch the APU heatsink when in load, and still keep my finger  :)
Also I checked the temperatures with another application. Temperatures are normal, a little high ... but it is very hot in Spain hehe.

The next weekend i try OC.

Thanks for all
