Hello. I'd like some help regarding certain mobo temperatures. I'm not too tech savvy and although I've searched the net and this forum for something related, results where unsatisfactory.
My build:
Mobo GA-78LMT-S2P Rev. 4.0
CPU AMD FX 4100 3.6GHz with Stock Cooler
GPU Radeon HD7790 OC 2GB DDR5 128-bit
PSU Segotep ATX-500WH
RAM KingMax 4GB DDR3 1333MHz
HDD Samsung SP2504 250 GB SATA
Everything is at stock settings. Apart from the GPU which came with a factory OC, nothing else has been OC'ed. Also this issues appeared with my old GPU as well.
My problem is overheating. Whenever I start a demanding video game, after a set amount of time ( around an hour or two ) the mobo speaker starts buzzing. Initially there are a few random buzzes then it eventually goes on into one continuous buzz. Apart from the fact that it is god awful annoying, it is still a warning sign. Also, I don't know if it is relevant or not but whenever I alt tab of the game I'm running at the time of the buzzing, it usually stops right after.
I've checked various temperature monitoring software products (CPUID HWMonitor, AMD Overdrive, EasyTune6, SpeedFan) and they do confirm some high temps.
I've posted some screen caps with the temps in question. These are only idle temps though, but I've highlighted the ones that do go up.
When the buzzing starts, the CPU temp is around 60 degrees in HWMonitor/EasyTune6, and TMPIN 1 on HWMonitor is between 65-75+ degrees. I don't know what TMPIN1 stands for. I've looked in my mobo's users manual and found nothing.
However, I did not apply any sort of thermal paste on the cpu when I installed it. I didn't even knew such a thing existed until fairly recently. The AMD user manual says it's needed and I am planning on getting some thermal paste in the near future.
So, I'm wondering if the lack of thermal paste is the cause of my problems or is it something else. It seems to me that 20~30+ degrees is a bit too much, even without the thermal paste but then again, I am no hardware wizard.
Thank you in advance, any help is welcome.
