X99-UD5 fan control not working in Windows 10

So I had Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit and I was using the Gigabyte SIV app to control my fan speeds and all was working well.

I have recently did a clean install of Win 10 Pro 64 bit and SIV is ignoring the calibration and the manual fan speeds.

The calibration brings back 1200 rpm for every step (0, 10, 20... 100), see attached.

How can I get my fan speeds back in order, my PC is really loud now.
Looks like SIV doesn't work correctly with Win 10.
Anyone else experiencing this?

So yes it is a windows 10 problem. You might want to set them in the bios till they can fix it.

Is there a fix coming for OS control? Because I need to be able to set it up via the graphs.
I am on BIOS F8b. Will updating make any difference?

Hi,
Got the same problem on windows 7 with F8 bios.

Opened a ticket, and tell me to check on bios, if all fans where on normal, one was on silent, set it on normal.

Again to SIV, same problem, now Im tired, I wont buy any more gigabyte, and got an analog fan controler.

I dont understand whats the purpose of creating buged software for mobo.

Dont understand why to bother creating s***ty software.(Of course, its comercial purpose, you see on spects if comes with software for all features and thinks it s agreat MOBO)

My i5 4660 with a asrock mobo of 36€, booted up in 5 sec, this MOBO bots up in 15 sec min. With ultra fast boot activated on bios and on software. AMAZING

Gigabyte have you fixed the SIV software for Windows 10 yet? I had to roll back to Windows 8.1 as the fan noise was unbearable. Changing it in the BIOS didn't help either. Works fine on 8.1 so it is a software issue 100%.

When I tried the "calibrate", it shown erratic values for some percentage (including 0! yes 0!). On top of that, it was not able to reach the max speed of the fan (1500RPM) but was locked near 700RPM for most percentages despite the fan is fully PWM and well plugged.

I ended up setting it to max speed in the bios, because I care more of the heat of the CPU than the dB coming out from the fan of the computer. Note that the BIOS is able to manage the fan based on the heat but you don't have much control on it, it will just adjust for you based on the heat the speed of the fan (but in my case, it never went up 900RPM and I wanted more speed for less heat).

Anyone knows if this was fixed by Gigabyte and the SIV app can now actually control the fans in Win 10?
