GA-Z170X Gaming 7 SATA DVD writer recognise problem

GA-Z170X Gaming 7 SATA DVD writer recognise problem
« on: February 22, 2016, 08:16:56 am »
Hi, I've installed the motherboard z170x Gaming 7-eu and I've got a little problem with the SATA connection. I've installed four HD (only one SSD) and them works good but I don't see the DVD Writer. I use the AHCI mode and I've installed Windonw 10 on the M.2 SSD 950 Pro without any problems ...
As you know, there are eight SATA connection ports, and I don't understand why the DVD reader/writer doesn't work. To use the DVD reader/writer I have to disconnect one HD and connect the DVD ...

I don't understand where I wrong ... I need your help ...

Thanks a lot
Ciao, Cesare  :D

Have you checked manual m.2 setup http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5615#manual If you use m.2 slot then some sata ports are disabled... If i remember correctly m.2 slot a (near the processor) - disables sata 1 , 3 ... or something like that.

Mmm, I'm very stupid  :o

I've installed the M.2 SSD on the M2D_32G M.2 connector (near the processor) and I haven't read the manual, of course !!!

Now, if I change M.2 slot (M2H_32G), I have to install Windows 10 again ??? I think yes  ;D

Thanks a lot
