Using Backtrack Linux on flash drive
« on: April 19, 2011, 01:14:54 am »
I recently built a new computer using a Gigabyte 880ga-ud3h and everything works awesome except it wont boot backtrack from my flash drive.  ???

I have it set in the bios to boot to USB-HDD. ;D

Is there anything else I need to check in the BIOS?

I should mention that I have tried the drive on other computers with success many times before and even as recent as 5 minutes ago.

Any ideas would be appreciated very much so!  :D

Yep its enabled...
 ???

Just for the hell of it I am going to wipe the flash drive and put backtrack back on it.

And see if maybe that will work.

Sometimes the USB pendrives won't be seen by the motherboard, so you might want to try another drive. Usually in these circumstances a smaller one is better, around a 2 or maybe 4 GB.

Thank you for your replies.

I had luck with reinstalling Backtrack on the 8gig Patriot flash drive that I use.

Why? :o I have no idea but the important thing is I got it working.

Once again thanks for your help Dark Mantis.

So I have verified that the 8gig patriot xporter
does work on the Gigabyte 880ga-ud3h mobo.  :D
