problem PCI-E 16x on GA-MA790X-DS4

I everybody I have a problem :

gpu-z told me like in the picture , that my video card support pci-e 16x but goes at 8x

card is into the blue slot like the manual writes

MB fully support 16x slot because the manual says : "the PCI Express slots conform to PCI Express 2.0 standard"

Please help me I want my ati goes at 16x

Hi and welcome.

You don't actually list what hardware you have so I am guessing here but if you have another card of some description in an adjoining slot it will force the PCIEx16_1 to revert to x8 instead.

this is my config :

- MB : GA-MA790X-DS4 bios F7
- GC : sapphire ATI radeon HD 4850 1Gb
- CPU : AMD phenom 9650 Quad-core processor 2.30Ghz
- RAM : 4Gb

- SO : windows 7 ultimate edition

I have only one graphic card installed into blue slot.
like in the picture in the previusly post the card is PCI-E 16x but it's running at 8x

Have you tried removing and then reinserting the card into the PCIEx16 slot ?

Check that all the power cables are connected to the motherboard and card. That is 24 pin and 8 pin to the motherboard and [b2 x 6 pins[/b] to the GPU.

Check that the Primary Graphics Adapter in the BIOS is set to PEG or PCIEx16

Make sure that you are using the latest drivers for the card.

See if the card has a newer firmware available.

i have already installed the last driver

all cable are plugged in

Have you checked to see if there is a firmware update available for the card ?

Are you using the latest version of GPU-Z ?
