What should my memory be set to in the bios?

i have pc3-10666 1333mhz memory what should i set it to in the bios?

Hi there,

with the Athlon X4 CPU's it can be set to it's rated speed of 1333MHz. The Automatic settings in BIOS might drop the speed to 1066MHz and you may have to manually change this to the correct speed.

You can either leave the BIOS on it's Auto setting in which case it should read off the SPD of the modules and configure it for you or you can set it to 1333mhz manually.  The details should be on the side of the modules or the box they came in.

the auto sets it at 1172mhz? kinda low isn't? What does dram eocp do? i noticed some settings in there like 1600, 1866, 2000?

What is the DRAM EOCP?

It stands for Easy Over Clock Profile and the BIOS can read the information on the RAM (if it is present) and automatically set the system to run at this.

As I said previously, with the Athlon processor AMD recommend running RAM at 1333MHz or slower. You will probably have to set this in BIOS and you do this under the MIT section.

Change Set Memory Clock to Manual
Next set the Memory Clock to x6.66 (1333 MHz)
Change System Voltage Control to Manual
Check the Voltage for your RAM Modules (printed on the label or on the packaging) then set the correct voltage under the DRAM Voltage Control. If the Voltage for your RAM is over 1.50V you will notice a warning message that flashes in red you can ignore this. So if, for example your RAM is rated at 1.7V you will need to set this here and it is safe to do so even with the warning message.
