No CPU vCore option on Gigabyte Z68AP D3 bios v1.0
« on: November 01, 2011, 09:18:05 pm »
Hello,

I am running the Gigabyte Z68AP D3 revision 1.0 with the F3 firmware. My problem is, in the Advanced Voltage Settings, I have no CPU Vcore option.

This is a problem, as I have bought this motherboard and my i5 2500k with the purpose of overclocking.

How can I make the vcore setting appear? Or, how can I achieve similar settings to get my vcore to a constant 1.30v?

Hi both of you.

It might well be that you will have to use a different version of the BIOS if it has been removed/left out for some reason. These things do happen on occasion. If it is desperate I would suggest contacting GGTS for help.

You really don't need the Vcore setting to overclock these CPUs anyway unless of course you really want to push them to the limit. Simply use the multiplier which should take you up to 4.5Ghz or more.

Just enter your email address and click on the language of choice.

Thanks for the reply.
I can get to 4.2 Ghz on the multipier without Prime95 failing. Is it worth trying to go to 4.5 Ghz for gaming specifically Flight simulator X which is CPU intensive ?

Hi Picklesnipe,  paul123 and Dark Mantis,  ;)

I suppose you have 4Gb of Ram...

What is your graphics card? Weblink about your exact model-brand are appreciated.

I have not infos about  your version Windows ( I suppose you have it  :P) and a type like Window 7 x64 -64bit.

So if you not have Windows Seven, anyway install a SP1, SP2 or SP3 ... on your Windows, if applicable.

But, if your experience are not good with SPx, you have not a Obligation to install it...
(I speak in normaly situation)
If you have a Window... have you installed a Service Pack 1 for Win Seven, by exemple...
Because SP1 It greatly increases the performance in the game.
Normaly... but maybe you have other things to improve.
(Drivers for graphics cards- Update, DirectX 10,  defragmented a Hard disk, etc...)

Have you installed Flight Simulator X: Acceleration. Just a question... for the fun... This is a official add-on from Microsoft for FSX

Another idea: Installed Flight Simulator on different Hard Drive than OS System.

I have just been checking through the manual and notice there is the DVid available (Dynamic Vcore) under Advanced Voltage  Settings part of the BIOS.

Hi all,  ;)

Do not forget to press the keyboard keys CTRL + F1 on main (First, principal) page on BIOS.

With this, you will normally see all the options, parameters in Bios.
