i5 2500k, z68 mobo, 8 GB RAM, no video card
Trying to run RAID 0, 3TB HDD, 64GB SSD.
Currently have drive set in AHCI mode. Too many problems with xHD mode. W7 not recognizing 'unsigned' driver codes and such.
I used the 3TB app and it created a virtual drive of 746GB, but still has that same amount listed as another disk.
Was hoping to use the EZ smart response tool, it tells me it can't use HDD over 2.2TB.
Before I drive myself crazy again reinstalling for what might seem to be my 10th time, figure I'd see what ppl on this forum might say.
What I've noticed so far is that a lot of ppl are going crazy over this stuff...
EDIT: Also, when I tried Xpress install with the drivers on the mobo disk and restarted, W7 had problems and I think disregarded the updateds, so I didn't bother with them.... I didn't update much, except the LAN.

I used an old 1TB HDD. Works fine now. Now I'm trying to find ISRT 10.5. Because 10.6 (off the disk) doesn't have the acceleration feature. Anyone have an easy site I can download this from? I'll see if I can add the 3TB as a secondary drive?

I'm using 10.6 and acceleration. I stuck with a 2TB drive on mine and two 1.5TB in RAID0 for my wife's. xHD was the reason I went Z68.
Perhaps try to keep your
partitions
<2.2TB...
