"Do you want to enhance CPU performance?"
« on: January 18, 2012, 02:09:00 am »
I was setting my RAM to 1600MHz (it's rated speed) in the BIOS and I got this message: "Do you want to enhance CPU performance? Yes/No". I selected 'No' because I'm not overclocking, but I'm curious about what it's supposed to do.

What's the point of this prompt, and would it have done if I'd selected 'Yes'?

Hi Oubadah,  ;)

You receive this message, probably because you have select '' Fail Safe Defaults'' ...
But if you choose a Optimized Defaults , normaly you not receive this message... maybe try it...

Have you really a problem or malfuction with this mobo? GA-Z68X-UD3R-B3 and GA-P67A-UD7-B3

No, I had selected optimized defaults before setting the RAM frequency.

Why not try it and find out?  PCs were designed to be tinkered with.

Sandy Bridge CPUs have plenty of overclocking room at stock voltages; I highly recommend it.

Don't forget that is only if you have the K processor. The i5 2500K or the i7 2600K, 2700K. The rest are multiplier locked.
