Hi my GA-EX58-UD5 last firmware 12 gb (2gb sims) 920 cpu been having problems on and off for a month now   :'( ,before i changed my psu it was turning its self off or would not turn on at first it would go on and off  :) antec 850 watt was 4 years old, got a new antec 850 watt but its been locking after working fine for a few mins up, so only the screen is displayed and have to reset the machine,  dont get the blue screen but  i`m getting FF on the post LCD which comes up as a graphic card fault but can play games fine and any thing else and most times it does not lock up at all !!!  i`ve cleaned the contacts on the ati 5870 with no change  ??? tryed it in the other slott as well and still the same .. graphic card or PSU ???

Hi

The display of FF is showing that the boot sequence has completed correctly. So don't worry on that score.  I would suggest removing the battery to clear the CMOS as a first call. Follow these instructions exactly:

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery overnight before replacing it.
 
Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.
 
You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

RIGHT its working fine but i turn it off at the wall in the night and when i first turn it on the next morning it starts then goes off and then starts up fine ?

That is just because you are forcing the system to do the same as it would on a first boot and thet is to check for any hardware changes. If you leave it plugged in and turned on it shouldn't do that each time. It might be an idea to change the CR2032 motherboard battery though.
