GA-MA69VM-S2 with no sound on Win7
« on: July 19, 2012, 09:41:34 am »
Welcome
First of all I'm new here and I want to say that it is great pleasure to join Gigabyte community.
I have a question in connection with problem stated in the topic of this tread.
I recently installed Win 7 32-bit on my computer and can't get him to deliver any sound.  >:(
It seems that when I plug in jack connector in the rear audio port Windows sees it and displays message that he
found speakers but does not give any sound. In front connector it shows nor gives nothing.  :-\
Drivers downloaded from homepage see only "Digital output" in realtek hd audio manager.
What is wrong ?  ???

You should try some other drivers from Realtek website .

Is the case front panel connected properly to the motherboard ?Is the connector AC 97 or HD type?

Is the audio device working connected to  another PC ?

You can enable the front panel from the Realtek Control Panel to activate outputs without auto-detection.

Try both the build in Windows audio drivers as well as the Realtek ones (including the ones on the Gigabyte drivers disc).

After I posted the first message I tried with the front panel auto detection option. It works fine now.
Still the rear panel stays silent as before. I'll follow your guide and try some drivers for Realtek website.
Thanks for advice. I will reply on the results after I find some solution that works....

Ok ,you should also make sure that the motherboard is properly installed in the case, as it can be the situation the outputs to be shorted or something to the case.
If everything fails RMA the board to the (re)seller to get a replacement.

I took a while because my computer had a complete break-down. There was a little problem with power adapter but enough of the offtopic.
There problem with sound was ..... not a problem with the device but with it's configuration.  :o
This is the ultimate solution: I had to pick by hand a sound device for jack connector (like front speakers, headphones etc.) and set them as default....    ::)
Sorry for all the racked and thanks for advice. Hope this will become  some what usefull to others.  ;)
