Z77 monitoring uti;ity
« on: September 17, 2012, 08:32:13 pm »
Now that I have the Z77-D3H working, I have two further questions please:

1. What is the stock temprature of this board please?

2. Is there a desktop utility I can use (I know the BIOS gives it) to monitor the MB and processor tempratures please?

Thanks

Gigabyte have there own free utilities to do this, but myself I don't use them.
My reasons for this is their utilities are bloatware that need to load every time windows starts and depend to much on windows libraries, services and resources to do their thing (but that's just my irrelevant opinion).

There are lots of legit free utilities to do this that are not as intrusive and when uninstalled or removed don't leave crap behind.
http://www.hwinfo.com/
HWiNFO is a nice little app that doesn't require loading a lot of crap every time windows starts.
Can show you temps and voltages of every sensor your cpu, motherboard, graphic cards and peripheral device has.

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
CPUZ is a light weight app that can display you information about your cpu, motherboard and memory.
Doesn't tell you anything about temps but displays voltage of cpu, ram speed, motherboard bios rev/pcie link speed/vendor.

http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/
Real Temp is light weight small app that displays temp and speed of your cpu and is great for monitoring when running bench or load tests when you want to keep an eye on how cpu temps and clocks are going.

.......
There really is a lot more, but these are some very basic things to get you started
