Memory did say 1066MHz during post, now shows 800MHz

Hey everyone, new to the boards here. I have a question about my Corsair memeory and Gigabyte mobo.

I'm using the GigabyteGA-MA790GP-DS4H mobo, with Corsair Dominator DDRII 4090 MB 1066 MHz ram. Also running Vista Ultimate 64 bit SP2.

When i first built this rig a year ago i remember seeing the ram in post saying 1066MHz. Now it says 800MHz. After it was built i was running XP. Shortly after i migrated over to Vista 64 bit. I also followed a Vista tweak guide but don't that had anything to do with it. I also flashed my bios somewhere during that time.

Looking in the bios i don't see anywhere it can be changed at. Is there a hidden section of the bios that i can access to change the frequency?

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

You will have to manualyl change ram timings, volts then fsb/ram ratio (not sure if thats same on AMD) to get your memory to run at that speed.

i think it is ctrl + f1  to get to the hidden menu

then set your timing and volts and youll be good to go

After a tip from the Gigabyte techs, i checked the memory specs and it should be running at 2.1v. I upped it from 1.8v (default) to 2.1v and it didn't help. On a whim i tried 2.2v and it did work. I now see 1066MHz in post. 

Should i be looking at the timing too?

Oggmonster--- Ctrl+F1 gets me nowhere, just to the help screen, which is the F1 button.

after i replied to your post i got to thinking.so i checked my bios setting (ga-ma785-ud3h) and took a few pics for ya to look at and see if you overlooked anything

from what i can tell about your ram your timings are 5.5.5.15 2T
but you should check the sticker on the ram itself to make sure

I've tried it a bunch of times but cntl+F1 does nothing for me. The second picture looks like the intelligent tweaker section, same as i see. I have the multiplier set on the highest setting to get to 1066MHz. For now, i have my dram settings on auto. I really don't know what any of those settings mean and don't want to get in over my head. I do want to learn though. Should i be able to find some chart on the Corsair website with all those settings? If i could match them up i would give it a try.
