X58-USB3 Bios Question for 3TB+

X58-USB3 Bios Question for 3TB+
« on: November 14, 2012, 03:51:34 am »
I was looking into the bios updates for the X58-USB3 motherboard and I am interested in getting a 3TB HDD for Christmas. Im confused on these Bios upgrades though. I upgraded to the F3 Bios but im wondering if the F3n bios is included in that. Does anyone know? Maybe I should just upgrade to the latest beta Bios. Im not sure on how stable that beta Bios is though. Can anyone give me any advice?

According the size of BIOS,I doubt that F3n (3TB+ HDD support ) is implemented in final F3.
So,
3TB+ HDD support is in F3n,F5a,F5c and latest F5f (on TT forum).
As BIOS is different (bigger) size, you must flash only with @BIOS or FLASHSPI.EXE.
Q-Flash will give you error.

Cool thx for the info. What is TT Forum though? Why isnt Gigabyte showing that Bios on there page? Is TT (Tweak Town)? Are these Beta Bio's legit or just for testing purposes?
